I just got a air horn (2 tier). It runs off air not a electric one.
I blew it at a shop today its pretty loud lol
I want to hook it up on my truck, I also want to be able to use my tank for filling up tires after off roading, or using a small air tool (just taking off a tire and putting it back on nothing crazy).
I have been searching and think I might need a 5gal tank? But no clue on compressor.
Iām looking for a noob section/write up, anyone point me that way?
I also am on a fire department, and might hit it a few times on the way to the house.
(Nothing long just a few short quick blasts maybe 2 seconds and 3-4 times)
So pretty much I would like to know what all I need for a decent set up.
I have a toolbox and would love to put my set up in their and then run the air cord from their to the front where I want my horn.
Welcome. Click on āshop onlineā at the top of any forum page. I definitely recommend a 5 gallon tank to get a couple of blasts from most horns. It will help with airing your tires back up and running air tools too.
The compressor you want depends on how much you use air. An Oasis XD3000 will allow you to use the air about as often as you like. The next fastest fill rates will come from Viairās dual compressors.
The nice thing about tanks is you can mount them just about anywhere and in any orientation. The frame is a good place if you need to save space.
The XD3000 can handle any size tank within its duty cycle (about 30 to 40 minutes out of every hour). It takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds to fill 7.5 gallons to 150 PSI.
The Viair warranty is limited to 5 gallons per compressor so you would dual compressors.
