New Guy

New to the site. A buddy of mine showed me some videos on youtube of the hornblaster guys terrorizing the streets and I was hooked from there. He ordered his kit and just got it in and we’re working on installing it now. I would like to get the shocker kit but don’t know which compressor to get. I was thinking about the AZ OB2 just because that’s what my buddy got. I think I’m just gonna run a 5 gallon tank at about 150 psi. My only question is where I’m gonna mount all of this. I drive a 2006 Chevy Silverado regular cab. I thought about dropping the spare and mounting the horns there. Where can I mount the tank and compressor under the bed? I plan on ordering the kit within a week. Thanks for your advice in advance.

The shockers will fit behind the grill on a silverado … you can go to hornblasters.com and go to their installs section to get some ideas… the shockers arent as big as a nathan so theres not really a need to mount them where the spare tire goes.

yeah…my buddy has a duramax we tried that with but he has a transmission cooler that’s in the way. i might be able to get away with it though…thanks for the advice.

another option is to mount the horns on the side rails of the frame…

I guess that’s what I will do because it’s not going there on the duramax. That cooler is almost as wide as the condenser. I have the compressor and tank installed in my tool box And I was gonna do the horns tonight but they would not get close to fitting

what about the tank and compressor? can i mount it directly to the frame underneath the bed?

yes they can be mounted to the frame rails if you have room… main thing on the tank is make sure your drain is on the bottom so you can get the water out… and you can mount the compressor sideways… if you dont want it side ways hornblasters can get you a compressor mounting plate.

I bolted my tank to the bottom side of my bed… using carriage bolts… Its holding up just fine, no problems there… I did get the 5 gallon 8 port tank so I have a port on the bottom for the water to get sprayed out.

If I get under my truck, i’ll get some more pictures.

alright…that’d be great. i’d like to see that.

Welcome to the forum dude!!!

Welcome, check out what Lance says on page 2 of the “dual 480 versus dual 450” thread in “On Board Air Systems” regarding the AZ OB2’s before you decide.

well at the moment i’m helping 19.5duramax hook his kit up. we just wired the momentary switch and compressor switch then it’s on to running the main air line and mounting the horns. hopefully we’re scaring some girls tonight

welcome to the forum.pease old rolling thunder red.

Sorry I’m a bit tarty to the party. Welcome aboard Wiseshanks. Once you get Duramax all hooked up, swing on over here to PA and scare some of our girls. It’s Home Coming season. Haahhaaahaaa!

That’s funny…we work together and a few times a year we’re on business in PA. King of Prussia right outside of Philly. We’ll be taking his truck too. Where are you?

In Hanover PA. About 45min south of King of Prussia.
