New Here, Shockers are now in Tijuana

Name’s Alan, been lurking on here a couple weeks while waiting for my order to come (really wish I found out about the forum discount about 2 days before I did). I just got my Shockers 540 installed with the 5 gal tank. I’m from NC, but came to San Diego because of the Marines. Now I’m out and living in Tijuana with my Mexican wife. Bought the horns b/c of how incredibly stupid, inconsiderate and uncaring about anything people drive here in TJ. Love the horns, think this will do the trick haha. I noticed a couple other guys not far from me, one from Irvine, one in Santa Ana, Long Beach.

Quick Note: I honestly thought this was a lot more pain in the **** and difficult to install than it was made out to be, so I gave in and after going through 15 places (audio installs/electric mechanics) that wouldn’t touch it, got it installed at a Audio Heaven in SD by some guys who did air bags too.

Quick Question: Even though I told them to, they didn’t cut and plumb the air hoses of equal length. Still sounds fine to me, and I don’t notice a lag or anything, but I really have nothing to compare it too. Anybody else have their hoses different lengths, how much will it really affect it? Well sorry for the long post, but let the honking begin for these idiots here in TJ!!!

Get on HornBlasters site and check out the videos, or get on YouTube and see what they have there. Keep in mind some of them are “REAL” train horns, and the ones on HB’s site are a combination (IIRC) of Shockers and a K3 or K5.

If it sounds close, no worries.

BTW, Semper Fi brother. Pick up some Alberto’s for me, the one by Shelter Island is decent but be careful the drive thru is a bit tiny.

Kris

welcome

Welcome to the forum and don’t worry there’s no forum discount.

Welcome, Mine are unequal lengths. Not a huge difference. Even less noticeable at 200psi.

Welcome to the forums.

Welcome from the Santa Ana guy.

The length of air line shouldn’t be a problem, especially if your valves are close to the horns.
