new horns with old setup?

ok so today a buddy and i basically took apart my whole setup because the so called “professional” who installed it did an awful job. i posted a while back becuase my compressor wouldnt work and we fixed the problem. then my horns were clogged with dirt and grime so we took off the backs to clean them and reseal them. all we got was a hissing sound. i made the mistake of getting a maximus level 4 kit before i found the forum. long story short, i want to buy the hornblaster HB4H and scrap my junk horns. can i just buy the new horns and use my compressor, tank, and switches i already have? the new kit from their site seems to come with all i would need minus what i have. please help!

Yea you should be able to, what size air hose are you running to the hose right now. What size tank? What PSI is the tank pressurized to?

If your tank and compressor are ok, all you need is horns, valve, airline, etc.

As E2E said your old setup will work. But as a previous maximus owner I would recommend stepping up the quality of the compressor and tank. Maximus is not known for quality products. Sorry to hear you didnt find this forum first. I know I wish I had came her first, would had saved me LOTS of money.

I’m not positive one the air line. The tank is 5 gallon and the compressor shuts off at 100 psi. Is there anyway I can turn that up?

Not if the compressor is only rated to 100psi. If it is rated higher, you can just get a different pressure switch.

It has a 100% duty cycle at 100 psi and a max pressure of 200 psi.

Then you could just buy a different pressure switch. At least you could get by without buying another compressor for now.

The compressors that come with the maximus horns say they have a higher psi rating but I started running mine up to 150 like it said it would do and I broke two of them. Leave them at 100psi.

Ok thanks guys I appreciate it. Looks like a whole new kit is what I’ll do then. I’m sure it will be well worth it

You are on the right track getting a HB kit…

But try and make some $ off of the junk kit u got now… list it on ebay. try to recoupe some $

A whole kit from HB is a great idea.

I do have a complete kit I am trying to sell if interested:D

Haha well pm me with a price and I’ll think about it!
