New member looking for info

Wayne here from East Texas. I have had a set of horns for years that were given to me by an uncle. He had them set up under the eave of a barn on his ranch. They worked when they were taken down, but have sat idle for a while. I am now wanting to fix them up.

From what I can tell, they are Prime horns. The base has a number of P-50196, the bells are numbered P-50195, P-50194, and P-20254 (large to small). The heads are all numbered with P-40256.

Any information on these horns would be appreciated. I also have several questions on reassembly:

  1. Best material to use for gaskets? Source for gaskets kit?
  2. I bought stainless bolts to replace the existing ones. Is this ok?
  3. What do I look for inside of head to tell me the condition of the horns?
  4. I plan on sand blasting the old paint off. What is the best paint and method of finishing?

Thanks in advance,

Wayne
