new/old horn

I have been looking at train horns for my ranger, but my budget doesn’t match my goal. However, the other day I was cleaning out my garage and i found this. My dad snagged it off of a quarry truck when he worked there. I’ve been trying to research it and can’t find much about it. the stamp in the back is “BW T-212688”

So anyways, these are my questions

  1. its pretty dirty/dusty. should i take it apart and clean it, or just leave it. (it sounds pretty good)
  2. i just bought a 3 gallon tank with 1/2" ports. im going to run it off of that, without a compressor (budget). is that sufficient.
  3. what psi should i fill it to (it’s capable of 200psi).
  4. Any other tips for a new guy on instillation

if you arent going to have a compressor, its not even worth installing

And that horn isn’t 200 PSI safe… it’s an old truck horn and they don’t run 200 PSI through their brakes, etc.

probably 150 would do it or less. how big of a budget do you have for your compressor? a viair 280c would fill a 3 gallon tank. its sorta slow, but hey its a cheap compressor that will last. and you could clean it. depends on how you want it to perform and or look
