New truck, means, new install. GOT ?'s!!

Ok guys just bought a 04 dodge 4x4 dually.
I like to mount my horn outside where ppl can seen them.<O:p</O:p
Here’s my current idea, mounting them facing down in my front grill guard <O:p</O:p
receiver with a custom bracket!! Here is what I sketched up so for. I need some constructive criticism. As far as the air set up I’m waiting for supplies to come<O:p</O:p
in the mail.<O:p</O:p
AND PAINT SCHEME IDEAS, PICS WOULD BE GREAT!!

Sketchup drawing along with old install on my 6.0l

And on the wiring side, how are you guys hooking em up so they honk when you hit the regular horn? Does your reg. horn honk with the train horn?

Mount them in the back!!!

Each one of my Installs, I like to show off my Horns.

1st Install…

2nd Install…

3rd & current (work in progress) Install…

As a Dodge Ram owner (love my Cummins!) I can tell you they won’t fit behind the grill. The oil cooler, intercooler, and radiator take up alot of room … so if you really want to show them off then you need to put them up high. Not only will it help project the sound, but it will help with theft prevention as well.

I can kind of see the receiver in your front bumper. Looks like that bracket would work pretty good. And you could remove it very easily. I would make the bracket at least 1/4" thick.

So what’s the air setup you speak of?

Izzy - Love the 12v man and insane amount of horn power up top, haha.
My old 12v would roll the coal. Can’t imagine how loud that is, just my K3’s
are insane. haha

Stinky - Man I’ve been checking your installs out and I’m very impressed.
Did you do everything your self?? And I hope my install looks half as clean
as yours, haha.

marineONE - I had em mounted on the frame rail but everone one could
see em way to easy “as looked funny hanging down the side, haha”.
Looks like yours is alot higher than mine was. Love seeing those cummins fans!

Ear to Ear - Two 444c’s and an eight gallon tank. Along wth my five gallon and 75% duty cycle compressor right now. Plus I’m running 3/8ID to everything changing that to 1/2ID.

And hooking it to my regular horn with a toggle “somehow” so I don’t have to reach below the dash to honk em.

Thanks for the replys! And I saw someones avatar that had their horns painted red and grey’ish/silver that looked awesome.

Yeah I had to take it to a shop so I could have the bed lifted off the frame so we could get them on, then put the bed back on.

Major PITA to get them there, but I can still stop traffic with them.

Bet that was fun, when I bought that dodge it had a flat bed on it. Me and my brother took it off and put a regular bed on her, I found a flip over gooseneck plate where you pull it from under the fender and that bed for $700! Gotta love craigslist.

Best one I had where I stopped traffic, I was leaving a residential area where it t’d onto a busy main road and the traffic light was out and everyone just kept going and not letting me go. So I honked it one loooong time and they actually stopped lmao and let me go. It was great. Everyone on the sidewalk just started busting out laughing it was cool.

I wouldn’ve never thought stripping the paint off these babys would’ve been sooooo hard! Anyone that’s thinking of repainting em, get ready for a project. I don’t know if it was lack of know how on my side but it took the better part of a day to get em done!

Here is a preview on the color

W.I.P.

There’s a few threads with howto on paint

Looks good so far man! Stripping the paint wasn’t bad for me, I used NAPA Paint Stripper in a spray can and the paint pretty much fell off.

You can look through my install thread linked in my sig for how to tap into your stock horn. Find the wiring to the stock horn under the hood and tap into it with a wire running to a toggle switch, which is then run to your solenoid valve. Yes the stock horn will still sound when you honk, but no chance in hell you’re gonna hear it!

Buhahahaha, now for the air setup. Will post when done.

Haha not going for stealth are ya!

haha cool
