Well, got the kit installed today, and the compressor doesnt turn on.
I have the white wire form the pressure switch hooked to the red wire of the compressor- and nothing.
I hooked the compressor up, red to power, black to neg to make sure that wasnt the case. Compressor works.
Bad pressure switch or??
Thanks for any insight
Interesting. I put the inline fuse in - 1 of the fuses that was sent with the kit had no filament whatsoever in it! Must of missed it at the factory
So were up and going! And its nutty loud - cant wait to get into a K3
That’s weird. Glad you got it going though.
Now I know you like makin’ videos…lol
1st time ive seen a new fuse have no filament!
I do enjoy making vids
Yeah, no way would I check a new fuse.
It would only show up after breaking out the test light or VM.
prolly slippy pressure switch
I was about to break out the dmm to troubleshoot - I thought to myself, what if the fuse was bad in the first place? lol
Everything seems to be fine and working - Im thinking it was just a dud from the factory- hopefully
I never liked those pressure switches anyway…I have a hate relationship to them lol…

Square D (Pumptrol) pressure switches are very common with shop compressors and have been around a long time. Some of them include an unloader function which relieves the pressure from the head of the compressor so it doesn’t start under a load. Consider them the industry standard.
Square D has a ton of switches. I bought a 9013FHG42J59.
It seemed to be the simplest / least expensive version.
Class “9013” Type “FHG” pressure switches are designed for the control of small electrically driven air compressors.
“42” means 100-200psi adjustable cutout range, 40psi non-adjustable pressure differential, 1/4" Female NPT connection, lower horsepower version.
“J59” means factory preset to 175psi shut off (highest preset, but adjustable up to 200psi)
