I scared the crapp out of myself the first time I honked them… installed today. Bad mistake honking with the window open… my ears ringing for 2 hours… ouch I would feel so bad to scare someone with these things… You guys have adverse reactions to hearing after honking?
I feel like I’m driving an 10 sec car with these things in my truck. Like a nervous criminal. Lol.
You guys drive around honkin with Windows open? Or closed?
windows closed with my shockers usually,. If I have a window open, I’m usually wearing ear protection but not always.
Yeah you can forget how loud they are unless you hear them raw every once in a while
Usually at least let my P3’s sing with my windows cracked. If I am going under a bridge or into a tunnel…windows all the way down for sure. The only time I usually leave my window closed would be for a random/spur of the moment honking, or if I am on the road and need to get someone to move along.
Windows down to with the Airchimes facing forward, to really hear the great tone of these horns. If going for a scare windows up, due to they can’t see who it is in the truck. But as much as my truck stands out I dont go for the scare approach as much as just letting people hear these horns or letting people know I’m there:D
Do any of you suffer from hearing loss from this? I can’t imagine hearing a Nathan airchime every time I drive without some kind of sound barrier between me and it?
You guys are going to really regret not using ear protection. My dad is having ear problems over the last year due to loud noises at the job he retired from. He even wore plugs every day. Hes had needles stuck inside his ear drum, surgery behind his ear into the canal, countless tests, but he still gets loud ringing in his ears from time to time. At one point the ringing was so bad he said he would have shot himself if he owned a gun. If the horns are even a little bit loud use ear plugs or roll up the windows. You do not want to experience what he was going through.
