I was previously checkin out eBay horns and was considering them, but I hear the sound samples and none of them sound like TRUE train horns.
Will the Outlaw provide me with that TRUE train horn sound? I know HornBlasters is the leaders in this stuff, so I’m sure they’d know what they’re doing.
If someone could give me a link to a sound clip or vid I would HIGHLY appreciate it!!
I wouldnt even buy that ebay kit. The compressor is some generic company, only 2 horns (will sound like a truck horn), and its only a 1.5 gal. The outlaw hornblasters kit has a viair 280C, 3 horns, and a 2 gal tank. Personally I would recommend the shocker horns, they have the most authentic sound for the price.
If you are looking at chrome horns, and are on a budget, the Outlaw horns are the way to go. They have been upgraded from the previous Omega horns; a brass construction, with a beautiful tone.
I had the shipping guys take a quick video with a cell phone. It will give you an idea of the tone, but not the dB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vShoT23r1VU
The Outlaw model is a great choice for a loud, obnoxious, air horn.
Please PM me if you have any other questions or concerns. I’m happy to help!
Thank you for your opinions. But is the Outlaw as loud as the eBay horns? They have another set on there with 3 Horns, and a VIAR compresser, but would it matchup with the OUTLAW.
Sorry if my questions are elementary, but I want to know what I’m buying before I drop the money. And shockers are out of the question. If I could get a set for 350 I would but other than that, no.
I TOTALLY agree…the HB horns are the LOUDEST thing out there with the best tone of anything I believe I’ve EVER heard, short of an all-out authentic railroad train horn. Any video or recording you hear DOES NOT do them justice. No exaggeration…if you listen to the video clip I have posted at the bottom of my signature, you can get an idea of how loud they are by how long the echo in that tunnel lasts…in there it’s SO freakin’ loud my ears ring for several minutes after I’ve blasted them in there!
Something that isn’t typically mentioned is that I believe you also have the option of ordering the horns individually, so you could pair them differently if you wanted different notes than having just the 2 short ones. If I had been aware of how hard it was going to be to figure out a way to put that longest horn in my car, I would have ordered a customiized 3-trumpet set using the 3 shorter ones…it would have been a LOT easier, and I wouldn’t have had to sacrifice the radiator shroud. I could have built a 3-port manifold pretty easily with just common plumbing parts…I have a custom setup anyway since I’m blowing 2 sets of air horns from one tank. If you saw it you might think it looks like a pipefitter went crazy! But the sound the HB horns put out is no joke!! They are AWESOME! My wife and I are planning to get a 2nd smart car in the not-too-distant future…and one of the things she asked me was “you gonna put horns in my car too?” I’m STILL laughing over that one!!
Okay okay…I’ll stop with the commercial now!! (Can you tell I’m happy with the Shockers?? LOL)
