Are they worth it? I have a book on how to build them but got lazy and decided to see what people think of them. Might just wait and save up for a nathan air chime or leslie.
Look up dozerboymiller on youtube…He has built several different types of horn with PVC and they sound really good!I was surprised and impressed!I would love to have a book on how to build some…Id like to try my hand at a PVC K5La…
You will find the book on ebay. Look under train horns, PVC Horns ETC. The book is great, plus Scott sends you 5 different you tube videos that show you lots of extra things on the horns. How to tune them, different parts you can use also. It was worth every dime i spent on the booklet and the videos, which are private so only you the buyer can download.
Go for it!

I built a few sets myself, including a Wabco E-2 and a Leslie RS3L. They’re extremely loud and definitely worth the time and small amount of money that they cost to build! Having had a Leslie blown right in front of me, I can say that they are no replacement though. That RS3L shook my entire body - I was wearing both earmuffs and earplugs, cause only one or the other wouldn’t have worked alone.
