So I took my train horn to a shop to have it installed. The shop wired the horn button to a ignition source and the compressor to the battery to run constant. I reversed these but then began having electrical issues. I ran the Viar 280c compressor to a fuse tap but this proved to be problematic. How should I wire the compressor to only run when the ignition is on and not fry my electrical system? For now I disconnected the compressor but would love to wire it back up and have some fun. I had a Hornblasters kit in my Ram with the compressor ran to a fuse tap with no problems but this appearantly isn’t the case with my Durango. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Awesome thank you. So I just get the relay with harness from the auto parts store? Any suggestions as to what relay? Is there a relay that is better to use than other relays?
Yeah, just a standard 30 amp relay from the auto parts store.
Some have bare terminals - some have a plug & harness - some are more weather proof. Pick your poison and buy spade terminals if it needs them.
BTW - welcome to the forum.
Good info. Thank you much. Now to make time.
Welcome to the Forum! They are a very common relay.
