I am just a couple parts away from being ready for my install, and I am stopped at a point now that I need to resolve before proceeding.
I have my tank, which has one 1/2 bung. My question is, can I run a nipple out of the tank, and run a 3-way “T”…with my compressor feeding one end of the T and the pressure switch on the other end? I know I’ll still need a bung in the tank for the outlet going to the solenoid and horns…but wanted to know if the pressure switch would still be affective in that setup.
The pressure switch should be affective just about any place it can sense the pressure. Just don’t put it near the compressor output. It would still work but the heat from the compressor could shorten its lifespan.
Rule of thumb here is to never install a pressure switch in direct line-of-sight to the input port of the tank. Pulsing of the tank pressure can cause the pressure switch to switch on and off intermittently.
