is there such a thing that gets a 100% seal? reason is is that i want to mount my horn under my truck, but i still want to put it on my roof/headache rack every once in a while
all my connections are push to connect and i have not leaks at all… hornblasters carry all kind of push to connects
I think he was referring to the quick disconnects, like the ones on pneumatic tools…
my past experience with them is that they are fine in warmer climates / weather… but this past winter here in buffalo ny, when the temp went below 40’s they leaked a little and when the temp below freezing , good luck getting the compressor to pump air… lol
what if i put a 1/2" union in? im not a plumber but that should make an air tight seal
Quick disconnects are hit and miss concerning leaks.
I have not ahd a leak yet with all I have sold. I personal ones that get abused everyday.
I use all DOT fittings and they don’t leak, even when I was in freezing weather. A little pricey but in my eyes worth it
+1 I get mine from a truck parts dealer. Get my air tanks there too! They have a nice selection of sizes and angled ones plus plenty of air line sold by the foot. The tanks come in many sizes and all port combinations. Ane all of this stuff is rated for trucks and motor vehicle use. I highly reccomend this route. My 12 gallon tank with multiple ports was only like $120 new. None of my fittings leak either. That damn bleeder valve I put on the bottom of the tank is a different story though…
My drain valve did the same thing. I just replaced it with a small ball valve, NO more leaks from that…
I thought about doing the same but I also kind of like it to leak just a little bit. I do not have a safety pressure relief on my tank (I know I’ve been a bad boy!) so the very slow leak is a good thing in my case. It usually only drops about fifty #s over a day or so.
Mine is not bad at all, I open the valve about every week and I’m getting nothing but A mist for about 3 seconds and then all dry air from there. Even when I drain all tanks. In your case, you live in A humid area so your gonna get Quite A bit more than me.It’s pretty dry up here right now but I’ll see what happens in the coming months.
I get about 1/4cup a week in my tank. tropics = humid.
Winter, summer, Fall, Spring. I have checked it in all seasons many times and never get anything out of the tank so I just stopped checking it.
