Quick toggle switch question...

Im wiring a built in toggle switch in the cab to be able to completely turn off my the current running to the compressor/relay. I have traveled to a buttload of German auto part stores to only find toggle switches that are rated 12v 10amp. I finally found a switch thats rated 125v 10amp. It was in the audio section for vehicles so i assume that its still good to run on 12v systems

I need 300w of 12v to power my compressor. If i do the conversion. The 120v switch is rated to 1200w.

Would i be safe running this???

You don’t want the switch on the high current side of the relay.
It goes on the trigger wire.

The main power goes from the battery (fused) straight to the relay (heavier gauge wire)
The trigger wire goes from a key-on source - through your new switch - through the pressure switch - to the relay (light gauge wire)

When done this way you can use any light duty switch, because it draw very little current.

Thanks, your method seems much better and logical.

You’re welcome
