I got a shocker kit from a guy and he didn’t use a relay on it. I’m gonna go the right way with it and put a relay and fuse on it. I’m wanting to hook it up to a toggle switch to turn it on and off. Where do I put the switch at and what post does it go to? What gauge wire should I use? Thanks in advance.
Another question about the push button switch. Could I just splice into my horn wire and run it to my switch and the other to my solenoid? Or do I need to buy a 3 position switch for that?
Here is Air Zenith’s wiring diagram. They have the pin numbers labeled.
You can use 18 or 16ga (like they show) for the trigger/pressure switch wire. 10ga for the compressor wire. Probably a 30amp fuse. It also shows the toggle switch.
Do you want to use your steering wheel to honk your shockers or you just want to know where to get power from for a seperate button?
I’m gonna get a push button to honk them. On viair’s site it says the following:
30-fused power
85-ground
86-pressure switch
87-compressor
Which is right? Also referring back to the toggle switch. Could I splice into the ignition then run a wire to the toggle then to the pressure switch and the other wire coming off the pressure switch to the relay?
Both are right. It doesn’t matter. As long as 85 & 86 are trigger & ground it doesn’t matter which order. 30 & 87 can be reversed also.
If I’m reading right, you said exactly what the diagram shows.
Ignition source—>toggle switch—>pressure switch—>relay
For the horn button, just pick any source. Maybe an ignition source, but probably a constant source so the car doesn’t have to be on to honk.
Thanks. I got them installed today and they are crazy loud. Didn’t have time to put my front bumper back on because it got windy, cold, and dark. But it’s done anyway. I will try and get some pics up tomorrow.
Oh yeah I’m running 1/2" line instead of 3/8" also.
