rim/tire size help!

hi everyone. im buying cobra replica rims for my 98 explorer. there are two different rims im looking at:

the offset for the deep rims is 27 and the regular rims is 24. Am I right to say that the higher the offset the farther away the rim is from the axle? So 0 offset would be the stock rim? I don’t know much about this stuff so thats why Im asking.

your going to want more way more than 0. 0 is where the lugs are dead center of the rim. You will want something + offset.

one more question though, those two rims i have posted above: can i use the same tire on those because they are the same rims and only the backspacing is different?

the tires will fit on the rim, but with the diffrent off set you have to make sure they do not hit the shock tower. or any of the suspension

you dont want to go too deep other wise you will hit suspension, i would reccomend calling the dealer and see what the maximum off set is for your truck

why cobra rims on an explorer?

yea you can do pretty much any size tire on a rim. except for too much tire… a lot of the drift/slammed people will do a smaller tire on a wide rim. both bc if its slammed then it wont rub as bad and will be more flush, and for drifting its cheaper to buy smaller tires.
