Russian Train Horn

For a historical research project, I am seeking information about what a train horn would have sounded like in Russia in the period from around 1890 to around 1935. I’d appreciate any leads.

Rick Cohn

most likely to be a steam whistle in those years.

Definately a steam whistle … very large and very loud.

Try " the horn and whistle board" google it and ask over there. they are into the older stuff.

I’m on that site myself.

Welcome. The site is - www.hornwhistleboard.com - and those guys take their hobby very seriously.

I am on there too. They know the history behind who made what and who used what horn on what train.
