ppppppppppppppppppp
haha Nice.
should have just used the standard relay/pressure switch and this wouldnt have happened lol
[ppppppppppppp
lol thats great
haha i kinda did the same thing the other day. i was backing out of a parking spot and hit the button (horns are wired to factory horn) with my thumb. skerd the chit outa me and the guy walking next to my truck. good thing he started lauphing (seeing me jump too) cause he was a big ol boy.
I’m gonna do the same… in case I get pulled over by the police, the last thing I want happening is the compressors kicking in!!! mind you… 8.5gallons of air should mean they wont be running that much! Cant wait
Oh and thats funny sh*t scaring yaself! lol
It’s funny how many of us have very similar experiences.
Scared myself twice. Once when I was first installing the Omega AH-500 under the truck. Had it all hooked up and asked the wife to test the toggle switch while I was under the truck on a creeper. I forgot I had charged the air tank during an earlier test so I got a direct blast about 6" from my ear and I slammed my head on the frame. Second time was during my recent upgrade when I was replacing some fittings. I was under the truck again on the creeper with my face about 2" from the main solenoid valve. Removed the hose clamp and started backing off the main air line when WOOSH it blasted me right in the face with 150 psi and some icky drain water. Forgot I had tested the new compressors earlier and left the new tank charged. I will not be burned again… er… I hope not…
haha sorry to say it but…yes u will lmao
ppppppppppp
I’ve done that when I set my alarm walking away from my truck. LOL Instant Body Shock…
Damn it! You were right, it just happened again today!!
I was connecting a new magnetic switch to my tailgate so that it would be hooked up to my factory alarm circuit. My tailgate costs more than $1,500 and it has some stuff added to it, plus I carry valuables in the bed under a hard cover so I needed the extra protection.
I had to run the magnetic switch wire up under the hood and tap into the factory hood switch. Well I didn’t think I needed to shut off the train horn for this project because the vehicle alarm was not activated. However my keychain remote was sitting on the rolling tool cart and my dog was playing with misc. tools on the bottom shelf of the cart, and somehow he caused something to fall on the remote which then armed the truck alarm without me realizing it. This alarm is setup so you can arm it with the hood open but as soon you close the hood then the alarm will go off as soon as it is opened again.
And there I was with a red-hot portable butane soldering iron in my hand connecting the tailgate switch to the hood switch to finish the project. I was leaning over so I could see the tiny wires real close. My head was about 6 inches from the stock horns and almost touching the grill. When I soldered the wires it reset the circuit then tripped the alarm and BLAMMM!! the train horn kicked off with both factory horns at the same time and me just inches from the vehicle!!! I jumped about 6" off the ground and backwards at the same time. The soldering iron flew out of my hand and some small tools fell into the engine compartment. It took me a few minutes to round everything up again. I couldn’t find the soldering iron after a thorough search so I was convinced that it fell down into the skid plate. I was just getting ready to disassemble the skid plate to hunt for it when I swear that I heard the dog laughing. I looked over across the yard and sure enough he had taken the soldering iron and was burying it at the other end of his run. How he managed to do that without getting burnt is a complete mystery. All is back together now and the new alarm circuit works like a dream.
Final score: Acme Train Horns = 3, Wile E. Coyote = 0.
That’s Funny ! I guess the Dog doesn’t want you working on your truck anymore. LOL LOL
