Does anyone know the size of the 1/2" airline out nut on the 2 gallon viair tank ? I want to replace it and put a quick release just incase I ever need the compressor for my tires. I tried a pipe wrench and almost stripped the thing.
I think it’s 7/8, but probably just easier to use a good shifting spanner.
Pipe wrenches are designed to grip the circular area of a pipe and will strip or round out a straight hex nut on a fitting. Either of these tools should work:

I used the first wrench illustrated above also almost stripped it. I will try the second one you posted seeing as it is my last option haha
