Shocker Classic 228VX T

So i’m looking into this set up very seriously… anyone have experince? For the price it seems pretty darn loud. This will be my first horn set up and hopefully everything fits in my camry.

Another question i have is if i mount the horns under the car… snow will get in them? So i mean i don’t know where to mount other than under the hood maybe but it’d be a tight fit

Any help at all on what i can expect would be appreciated

It’s a good kit, but I’d choose the 240 Shocker XL kit because it comes with a compressor that moves about twice the amount of air (for quicker recharge times) and also a larger air valve and I think larger tubing as well to the air valve.
The 228vx and the 240 kits both have the same “Shocker” horns. They are as close to a real train horn as you can get IMO.
A lot of people mount the horns in front of the radiator. Some mount them downward, I mounted them horizontal facing both to the right and to the left of the car. Well, I didn’t mount them, rather I literally shoved them into my front bumper and they were good to go.
The horns won’t rust because the diaphragms are stainless steel and the body is high strength plastic.

THank you for the reply man, for the price the shocker series seems like a great kit and would get loud. I’m just a complete noob when it comes to this… in regards to where to run the lines, if i need to drill holes etc.

The kits come with everything and you just have to match up the pieces and screw or push them together and seal the screwed connections with loctite or plumber’s tape.

I didn’t have to drill any holes for my set up, just used an existing hole through my firewall for an electrical line to activate the air valve.

I managed to stick everything under the hood so I wouldn’t have to deal with putting stuff in the trunk and then having to run air lines to horns from the trunk and power lines to the compressor.

Didn’t have to drill any holes for screws either. Zip ties only.
EDIT: It’s up to you how you want to install it, my setup is not professional but many people on here did a professional install.
