First time on forums bought the horns last month just got around to installing them. I had a set of shockers on my Mazda Protege5 and this time around i didnt feel like ripping apart my front end like i did on the car so I installed theses underneath a truck box in my bed with compressoer and tank inside the box
its 4:50am eastern time so i would like to have pictures tommorow if i remember
its a nice instal works nice easy to remove if i ever need to(to many tickets without the horns already)
Here is some pics of my install…im not the greatest at wiring but I tried.
Is still loud while under the box…wanted to mount where spare tire is but I do not have the key to get the damn thing off so I came up with this
As for inside the truck I have one switch that controls whether the compressor is on or off since I could figure out how to make it so it is only on if ignition is on
I just used a 12v switch and ran power from battery.
Also my sucky wiring skill couldnt figure out how to get it push steering wheel horn so I just made it so the solenoid has power and opens when I flip another switch
Any suggestions please give me or concerns…I want to upgrade but $$$ girlfriend notices large amounts so little things here and there please.
Also is it fine with my solenoid connected directly to the air tank?
Looks good man!
Get some pics of the truck also. We’d love to check it out.
a little muddy but got a picture of the switches…right switch turns on compressor left switch opens the valve…as you can see some bumper damage but found a free bumper just gonna repaint
i like the set up. I was thinking of doing something similar, but then i just put the horns under the bed. How do they sound coming out of the bed?
well i honestly dont know how they would sound if they were out of the bed but if i have my back window open while im driving and i blow them my ears actually hurt i dont notice any blocking of the sound in any direction either
wow nice set up bro those are the outlaw??
