Does anyone know why my shocker horns work great and sound awsome, then when the tank is filled back up it sounds really weak until you blast the horn a bout 30 times?
really weak after the tank is filled! it should sound even louder than when the tank is almost empty
30 times? how big is your tank? lol, ya should be louder when tank is full.???
5 gal and tank and yea it should. But every so often they will sound really weak and i have looked at everything. I thought they were filling up with water, but they were dry and working perfect then they started sounding weak again. I ckecked the psi and all the lines and everything was normal.
Do you have any debris in the throat of the bells? Sometimes if they are mounted facing forward the flare can scoop up items off of the road.
nope. i have checked everything. i have no clue why it does it. i was parked in my driveway checkin them out they sounded perfect so i was like hmmm honked again after the tank filled back up an they were weak again. so i have no clue what might be wrong.
Have you disassembled and checked the diaphragms?
There’s really not that much inside them that can fail…
no i havent ever pulled open the diaphrams.
Dude…hear me out??? Check ya solenoid…might seem a bit crazy, but if under pressure the solenoid may be failing to open correctly (air pressure is forcing it to lock up) and as the pressure drops, it’s able to opened fully??
ok. But it will do the same thing at low psi also, and it will also work fine at high psi.
sounds like a possible kinked line or solenoid problem or diaphragm issue…
On my old set of siege horns i had , the diaphragms would always mess up and sometimes i had to hold the solenoid open just for it to honk a little… u could hear air rushing but no honk…
first thing i would do is trace all your lines and make sure u got no kinks.
then disconnect horns fron solenoid and hit the trigger button to see if it full blasts ever time… if so move on to checking horns… if not its the solenoid…
ok i wll try that. Thanx for all the help. Hopefully i get this fixed soon.
