I have the shocker xl kit at 150 psi. just got them maybe a week ago and all of a sudden they started making a high pitch sound from one horn it sounds like but sometimes they will work fine. Just wondering if anyone has advice to fix the problem or has had the same problem and what they did to fix it.
Had a few friends have problems like that and a few people on the forum as well… it was only at 200 PSI though… I think it was agreed that it was diaphragm problems. I’m not too sure… Call hornblasters up, the shockers have a lifetime warranty I believe!
yeah i sall that to but its not all the time its on and off. I mean there brand new to and theres no way anything could have got into them. is there anything else it could be?
Not that I know of. Mine are over 3 years old and still sound perfect. I’d just call em and see. Someone else on here might have something to add, but I’m not sure what else it could be.
Mine only squeak when its hot. like at night, when its colder they sound great. Its weird. Brian on here said it was because he wasnt getting 12 volts to the solenoid, idk
Thanks i really dont have a clue what it is but it started just all of a sudden when it was humid one day and now its just there until i blow them alot then it will go away and come back.
They aren’t mounted facing up are they? Or maybe angled slightly up? Could be getting condensation or something in them and when you honk it blows the moisture out.
all the horns are facing down with the exception of the big horn that one is on a angle behind the front bumper.
My guess would be low voltage and/or current supply to the valve. This could cause the valve not to open fully which could result in reduced pressure allowing the first 3 horns closest to the manifold to sound ok but the 4th horn to be off-key due to a lower than normal air supply. Or maybe some junk got in your air line and is now trapped in the horn manifold or diaphragm and it only blocks the port once in a while when in the right spot. Either of these problems could vary with the weather, road usage, psi, etc.
Thanks alot i am gonna check everything out again today to see if i can fix it.
when i had my shockers they sounded more like a goal horn from hockey games when it was cold outside but mine never squeaked.
yeah i have no idea why it started. I have heard that the weather can make them sound different but i mean mine actually just sound like the big horn was missing.

this is a video i found of the xl’s that do the same sound
The horns in that video sound terrible. As if one or more of the trumpets are clogged or not firing. If my Shockers start sounding like that then they are going back for replacement or refund. Hope not!
Yeah see thats what im saying mine have been sounding horrible pretty much like that. It sounds to me just like the big horn is just missing. mine are working better now well see for how long though
are u sure ones not clogged?
yeah im sure i’ve checked everything.
