I have some Shocker XL horns and was wondering if they are ok to use in cold temperatures? Our temps here drop to 0 Deg. F and lower in winter so should I just remove the horns and wait for warm weather? What is the temp range of these horns?
I’ve had them down to 15F and they sounded fine. I did have the check valve just after the Viair compressor stick on me until the next day, either by frozen moisture or metal shrinkage.
You could contact HornBlasters and see what they say.
They should be fine (my airchimes were) just make sure they are clear of any snow the worst that could happen is the solenoid valve may not close all of the way (speaking from experience)
Welcome to the forum. Clogged air lines and solenoid valves from water freezing in them are more likely.
It was weird though pulled the fuse and it went off Idk it will remain a mystery it was 2 degrees that has not happened in years so my chances of that again are in the 0 range lol
Ive never had a solenoid stick but it sounds like a definite possibility.
I had my first solenoid stick a few days ago. It got down to 18 degrees. I got to look into the stuff truckers put into the airlines to keep them from freezing.

I am located near myrtle beach SC. (south eastern USA) The ony problem ive had is the air compressor would run but would not build any PSI. I’m guess there was moisture in the lines which caused the lines to freeze and the air wouldnt make it to the tank. After it warmed up above 32 it started working fine again.
your compressor probably broke i had a one that also did the same thing they have a one year warranty
Explain broke?
The piston sheared off and was grinding against the wall of the compressor
who are you replying to? my post?
Did it fix itself when the temperature climbed above 32? LOL
Haha - this thread is about temperature related issues…
You are right though - the compressor motor would run without pumping any air.
What I said was the compressor would run but wouldn’t gain any pressure because there was some frozen moisture in the line and I guess it was blocking the air was passing through. But once it warmed up out side. It worked find. No pistons sheered off or anything. Not sure where that came from lol
