Shocker Xls and 120 PSI

Hi,

Wont have the shockers for another 1-2 weeks, but my current 5 gallon tank is rated for 125PSI and i have the HB 90-120 pressure switch/relay.

Would the shockers be underpowered by the 120PSi?

Just curious if I would be bottlenecking them by not having a higher PSI tank? (would they be much louder with a higher tank?)

What do you all run them at?

Wont be able to upgrade my tank until next fall.

Thanks!
Jason

I ran mine at 150 psi. I cant really comment on the difference of 120vs 150 as I have always ran 150.

120 Psi Should be fine for the horns. i ran mine at that Psi before, not much difference. Now I’m running them @135psi. believe me they are even loud at 40 psi!

thanks

I run them at 120-130 when the compressor shuts off, still very loud.

Have them hooked up and running

Had about 20PSI in my tank when I was playing with the dash wiring and accidently touched the wires together… Nice blast

Have a toggle switch to hook them up to honk with the horn, Anytime we go down a private rd here I give them a quick “try” but wifey jumps the gun and blasts them first!!!:smiley: lol

I only have a 3/8 block on the air tank right now that my 1/2 DOT line is tapped into , plenty loud. Down the road, I may upgrade my 5 gal tank and get rid of the smaller fittings. But not out for the scare factor so completely happy with the current noise of them.

Ya I find that the lower the pressure, the less ear bleeding treble comes out of the shorter horns and bass stays strong. 120PSI is fine you’ll just have a bit shorter honk time because the tank will run out a bit quicker

I had about 40 psi In mine and I was hitting them around a cop during a bike happening, Good thing I didn’t have them aired up all the way.
