Where could i buy Airchime bells mine were stolen so also keep your eyes out for me i want non-raised letter bells. i have a K3LA laying around letter and i want non raised letters my K5LA’s we stolen
Thanks,
Stolen? Ugh. I’m sorry that happened to you…
Does this mean you’ll be re-thinking your mount location? I’m asking because I seem to recall seeing photos showing your setup in the spare tire well, and I’ve always had concerns that under-body-mounted equipment was too accessible. What’s happened to you seems to indicate the concern is warranted, so I’m curious what your new game plan is…
tac welding is my new plan
Everything!!!
Sadly I’m pretty darn certain i may have to just by a new set:mad:
While that’ll add time to a theft, I don’t know that it’ll deter/resolve it. I say this because I suspect whoever stole your gear cased your vehicle to determine how to go about it … prior to doing it. I suspect this because pneumatic knowledge isn’t exactly common – and this person or persons had to figure out not only where your gear was, but also what it would take to remove it quickly and quietly.
Halloween prank? Possibly. But more than likely this was someone who knew you had the gear and went after it thoughtfully. Tack welds would only add ~1 min with use of a battery-powered cut-off wheel … and if done as the last step in the theft, it’d be largely irrelevant, sound-wise.
Personally, I recommend investigating downward-firing, behind-the-grille mounting.
Food for thought…
They we stolen during the day in the city I don’t think you could get away with a loud grinder plus all of the sparks
If the thief acted like s/he -should- be under the vehicle doing it, it’d probably be even easier during the day, as the sparks would be less visible and there’d be more background noises than at night.
I have an s10 there is no room behind the grille at all they are above my rear and exhaust pipe you can barely get a wrench in there let alone a grinder
I’m not trying to be critical, at all. I’m just trying to provoke thought because I’d hate for you to buy/install new horns only to have the same thief come back for a second helping…
Good luck in your endeavor.
Well that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
