Yeah, I saw two deer on the side of the road (ALIVE lol) and wanted to see how they would react. I sorta crept up on them and laid on the horn. One of them went insane and jumped about five feet in the air. The other one didn’t move. I kept watching it and about a second after I stopped, it fell over and didn’t move anymore lol. Needless to say, the people that were taking pictures of the “pretty deer” probably weren’t thrilled with what I did. I can sort of understand the horrified looks on the family’s faces lol. Oops.
LOL!! i so wish that this was caught on tape
bwhahaah. poor deer… but thats funny!
Number12ForLife, that’s a good story! “pretty deer”
Most interesting is the part about the deer cardiac arrest, or whatever happened. Would like to hear more stories about horn vs. deer. Do they run away? Toward? Do they freeze?
in your story the deer fell over. That would be pretty handy. “How’d you bag that buck? Bow? Shotgun?” – “Trainhorn”
dude you only have like 3 comments but that would be hillarious to have done to a deer . I prob would have died too from laughing.
hahjahaha thats so funny i want to do that.
Personally, I find it a sad occurrence that the creature was scared to the point of probable death. I can only hope that it was only stunned…
damn, now ima have to get a video camera and drive around lookin for deer. lol…
Its one thing to honk at deer that are standing in the middle of the road and wont move, which i have done… But dont go all out to scare these things on purpose… Thats only gonna ***** (s.p.o.o.k. is a bad word?) lol, them even more and make them even more crazy
This deffinitly tops my best scare of making a guy fall off his bike

I feel the same way as well. I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman and I have hunted everything from Deer to Grizzly Bear. I have repect for wildlife. I hunt to eat and hunt to do my part in conservation as well as use my god given rights to hunt and shoot/own firearms. I do not and I repeat do not use my train horn for any animals and I have made that clear in other posts on this forum. I am also a horse owner and I would be very upset if someone spooked my Horse whereas it became injured or threw off its rider, same goes for cattle as well.
so its ok to shoot them but a heart attack is crual? i hunt as well but i would say if anything its more humaine to die from a heart attack then to be shot… i know if i had a choice of how i would die heart attack would rank over gun shot…
p.s. do those 2 380c’s run that 20 gal by them selfs?
First, I am not a hunter. I do not think that I could take an animal’s life, even to save my own. Still, I understand why some do, and I respect that right.
Hunting requires skill, it also requires a license.
Hunters consume what they take, so the practice is a life-sustaining one. Killing an animal - even by accident with the intent of scaring it - is a senseless act of cruelty in my opinion.
Scaring an animal to death requires no skill. If the animal was left to rot, then you have killed for no reason - other than your own entertainment. This sort of behavior is condemnable, also in my opinion.

Well put Lance, some people are just plain ignorant.
gnorant? wtf? get your head out that deers donkey. it wasnt about weather or not you eat it or why you killed it. you simply stated that is was crual to kill it by scaring it to death. and i said it was no worse then shooting it, as if to say that if i go and kill a deer with my horn, then eat it, im worse then you going out and shooting it. if anyone is ignorant its you. how the hell is a bow or a bullet ok but a horn isnt? the honkin thing is dead, no longer living, its now your dinner for the next month.

I would highly recommend spell check and proper sentence structure. I think you are missing the point here.
yea, that makes me ignorant, cuz i didnt type everything i spelled at 6 o’clock in the morning correctly.

Ok, in all fairness, what about the below post that you made at 10:45 AM?? Need I scrutinize all of your posts?
(i.e. spelling and sentence structure)

You are totally missing the point here.
sure, go ahead, go through all 100+ posts and tell me what i spelled wrong, please. i want to see you spend your time doing that… go on, your gonna be a while, i know i dont type or spell well, i type fast and dont care to check it, so shoot me… but dont blow your train horn because that would be wrong. the problem i have is this, there was an arguement, and thats fine, i like arguments because you gett everyones opinion, but then you come on here insulting me, calling me ignorant, just because i dont agree with you? aswome sportsmenship.

My original post with the word “ignorant” below:

I was responding to a post made by forum member Lance. How is it that you implied that I was talking about you and not the original member who actually scared the deer with his horn?
I take more offense to your poor sentence stucture and grammer than I do with anything you could possibly call me by name.
If you think that scaring a deer to death is sportsmanlike conduct, then I am totally done with you and anyone else on this forum that agrees likewise.
Bottom Line: I bet 98% of the members on this forum will agree with Lance and myself that it is inhumane to “scare” any animal to death with a train horn.
