Solenoid is sticking open

I am using the 1/2" upgrade on my shockers. I hit the button today and it stuck open releasing all the air from the tank. Thankfully it’s only a 2 gallon tank, and I have a kill switch on the whole system. It’s not that cold out (about 30 degrees). Is there anything I can put in the air line to stop this from happening? Or does it need to go back?

Airbrake antifreeze.

It can happen even when temps are slightly above freezing. When a compressed gas is released, it gets colder.

Do they sell that at any auto parts store? I have a quick connect on the line from my air tank to the solenoid. Do I just pop that off and pour a little in the line?

Auto parts store or truck stop type store.

Yeah wherever you can get it into your tank. The idea is to have it stay in you tank & mix with the water. You don’t want it to all blow out your solenoid. Except maybe the first time you put some in - it would be nice to purge out the water.

Thanks for the info!

I haven’t put the air brake anti freeze in yet, but I did get the install wrapped up on my car last night. The drain plug was leaking, and then fitting on the side of the solenoid was leaking too (shocker 1/2 upgrade kit). Both were replaced and all was fine today, until my horns started squeaking. I thought it was the diaphragm, but after a little searching it sounds like this is a solenoid issue. My question is, should I open it up and see whats going on, or just sent it back to hb? It’s only 6-9 months old so I would assume it’s under warranty. I just hate to be without my horns from a week waiting for the new solenoid to arrive.
