Some install questions...

Hey guys i just got a Conductor’s Special Model 240 from garrett at hornblasters. i havnt installed it yet because i have some questions… i know i can call garrett but i dont wanna bother him.

i live in the midwest (snow and salt) and i have a 2008 duramax crew cab.

should the compressor be mounted somewhere other than under the truck? i am putting the air tank down under the driver seat on the inside of the frame. it says to keep it out of dirt and grime, but at the same time the leader hose from the compressor is really short…

i guess i am just worried the the salt in the winter time will eat my compressor.

thanks guys

if u have a cover on ur bed mount them in ur bed. or if u can stand the loudness mount them in ur cab.

thanks for responding. i dont have a cover on the bed, but i use the bed way too much to have that in there. i also dont have a tool box back there. i probably would go crazy if i had it in the cab, because of the noise.

is it not possible to mount it where i want to under the truck?

its completly possible to mount everything under truck. and for dirt and grime u could maybe build a sheet metal protector like a guard case to help protect from mud n poop

thats a good idea, i wish i had a welder…i could probably figure something out with out a welder… do you think it will rust if i just mount it down there without any protection?

if u do alot of driving in rain or snow with salty roads theres always the possibility of rust. that’s y i recommend some sort of cover or guard and should be easily removable for service
