Steel braided hose?

Can someone tell me where I can find 1/2" steel braided leader hoses? I’d prefer to purchase from a store rather than online and have to wait for shipping. Thanks in advance!

Only someone that sells viair products. These arent something easily found in a local store. Contact viair for a store locator closest to you.

Usually steel braided hose is expensive.

http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=viair-leader-hose

But Hornblasters nor Viair Sells 1/2 leader hoses

So I can’t find 1/2" steel braided leader hoses anywhere. I wanted to use them to run through the floor of my cab cause I’m worried about rubber lines maybe being worn against the metal in the floor. Maybe I’ll just use black steel through the floor or I guess I could just fill the gaps around the rubber hose with silicone… Any thoughts?

How does someone who is banned post on threads? And I’m curious what one does do get banned.

use a rubber grommet… for hoses going through floors/firewalls ect…

u should be able to fine them at a hardware store…

Thanks alot! Can’t believe I didn’t think of that.

He was banned after he posted that and one must steal from other members, etc, get banned once, twice, thrice, and banned again lol

1/2" outer diameter?

1/2" id

what type of compressors do you have? Im used to see 3/8" leader hoses on most of em. Thats interesting.

using a bigger hose than the ports on your compressor only increases storage not air flow

I have a engine driven bendix compressor but I wanted to use them an my manual valve in the cab of my Western Star and run them through the floor of my cab, not on my compressor.

1/2 inch steel braided hose is called -8 or dash 8. Performance automotive stores or aircraft parts houses usually have this or can refer you to someone in your area. Do a search on Aero Quip hose or steel braided aircraft hose and see what you get. Jegs,Summit.PAW alll are HP parts houses.Drag and circle track Racers use this hose.

There you go. lol

I know this thread is a little old, but?
If you were to run the compressor with 1/2" leader hose, does that change back preasure and how the compressor would fill? FOR EXAMPLE: Like a Diesel engine might react to a different exaust setup.

Only if the ports on the compressor are larger than 1/2". The smallest opening between the compressor and tank will determine your air flow.
