Stinkys blow by blow install pics

Guys, I know ya prob sick of me and my truck… but finally heres a blow by blow pic account of the install…

ME & MY BEST BUDDY HOLDING OUR HORNS…

THE BACK OF THE TRUCK BEFORE I STARTED…

THE PLANNED LAYOUT…

BUILDING UP THE TANK…

18mm MDF STARTING TO BE PUT TOGETHER…I had all the MDF cut specially to size…it wot going to be all boxing, but then I lent the two side bits up against the wheel arches and thought hmmmmmmmm they look good on the angle…hence…

THE SHELF BEING FITTED AND HOLES CUT…

BACON SANDWICH TIME…CARE OF MRS MILSTER… BLESS HER WELSH LITTLE HEART!!!..

THE HORNS ALL IN AND NOW THE WIRING STARTS…

YES YES I KNOW IT LOOKS A MESS…I DID NOT WANT TO CUT AND SHORTERN ANY WIRING UNTIL I KNEW THAT I WOZ HAPPY WITH THE EFFECT… Each LED has 5m of cable X 25 LED’s…

LEDS START TO GO IN…

ORIGINALLY THERE WOZ ABOUT 150M OF CABLING, I’VE SINCE CUT BACK ALOT OF THE WIRING AND WOULD SAY THERE IS NOW ABOUT 100M OF CABLING IN THE BACK…

FITTED THE STROBES ON THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK…(IN THE GRILL X 4)

FITTING THE LED STROBE LIGHT CONTROLLERS IN THE DASH OF THE CAB UNDER THE STEREO…

STARTING TO TRIM IT OUT WITH ACCOUSTIC CARPET…

NIGHT TIME SHOT OF LED’s…

THEN THE CHEQUER PLATE GETS FITTED…everything had to be disconnected again to template & drill the chequer plate for the tank and the LED’s…Notice if you will the subtle little touches, like the black “shocker” outline on the chequer plate to the left of the picture, which i had specially made!! & and the plate woz laser cut to fit!!

MOST UP TO DATE PICS & STILL NOT FINISHED…

SO…FROM THIS…

TO THIS…

IF YA DONT LIKE IT…TOUGH COZ I DO!!! LOL;):D:p

Looks great. Two thumbs up Senor Stink.

WOW that looks like a hell of a day of work

but it looks amazing. love the whole chequer plate with lighting thing! it turned out really nice and looks professionally done.

Thank you…No…lol not done in a day… more like 3 or 4 weekends solid and every hour of daylight in between working and gym and stuff lol… but still more to do…:frowning:

AND WOT IS IT WITH YOU GUYS OVER THERE, WITH THE FASCINATION ABOUT BACON SANDWICHES??? LOL LOL LOL (and the jointing compound tasted nice in them pmsl)

That wasn’t our first lot of BACON sandwiches either…We went through 2 packs of 8, compliments of Mrs Milster, LOL!!!

Alot done that weekend Chalkie but seemed like we had’nt even, OH, confession, I fitted the Siege’s, kindly given to me as a birthday present by yourself…(OI my birthday card still in the Duke, not written yet) to my big butch Lesbo on Viagra. Mrs Milster ended up helping you more on this one dude…As I finished my install and said, “how you 2 getting on”. LOL!!!

But I can vouch for you on this one, as I can remember the early hours of the morn calls we had from your progress to my thoughts…But in all dude…PROUD OF YA!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Well done stinky . Looks great , im about to install k3 with 10 gallons of air into my landrover defender up in scotland . Any tips

Oh how pretty damn cool is that!!! another set of K3’s in the UK!!!

Tips…

My first one would be to face the Horns at the floor… mine are loud, but only loudest behind the truck, pointing them downwards forces the sound waves to explode when they hit the floor and they just go nutz!

2nd… Feed these babies air!!! as much as you can get in them!

3rd… keep all the pressure switches etc etc and outlets on the top of the tank or on the side, to avoid the water that will build up inside the tank from damaging the said items (unlike me, mine are all on the bottom of the tank & I kinda expect I’m going to have problems at some point.)

4th… Under NO Circumstances sit in front of the K3’s and let them off… trust me, I’ve been there and almost perferated my eardrums & it seriously hurt like hell!!! (I’m not messing around)

5th… Enjoy these Horns mate!!

6th… Read up or ask on here if you have any questions, they are a good old bunch of lads (& lass’s) and are only to happy to help out!

Am chuffed for you mate, and really looking forward to seeing your install, mine I show at shows all the time.

Have fun!

If ya get stuck, pm me your number and I’ll be only to happy to give ya a buzz on the landline.

:eek:I see you have K5la’s… how even more cool!
I got K’3’s & shockers
(shockers are still waiting for me to get my a*se into gear and fit!):o:D

Time for Stinky to move up to a ferry horn!! lol…

kick a$$ install…
would be nice if you had a smoothed out floor…

Thanks for the quick reply last week pete . I have loads of space under the defender mate , im 3 tonnes , almost 8 ft and have 10 seats so i can mount my trumpets facing downwards no problems . Should i drill out the 4mm hole in the horns to 6mm ? Iv been told its louder .

no…dont drill them out…u will ruin your horn…

Wow ! Thanks for that info , i wont bother . Its already costin me 2 thousand big ones . Iv been off work for 3 wks waiting on delivery and customs to get my kit to me and now i go to fit everything my boss wants me working every bloody hour . Looks like xmas 2010 will be here sooner .

Mate…dont drill…You dont need to!!! They are gonna be loud enuff as it is!!!

How come you spent £2000…???

Theres someone on here selling a complete kit for less than £650…even I’m tempted!!! lol

I got a good vid of mine blasting in Wales!! It needs editing, but hell, I might just post it up later.
