SUPER n00B question lolz

i don’t really understand the differences between K3LA, K3H, K3HA and so on. could someone please explain for me.

Tuning and manifold choices …

K3LA means:
K series bells, number of bells, manifold type (in this case the low mount manifold), and American tuning.

K3HA means the same as above, except the “H” is for the high mount manifold.

K3H means:
K series bells, number of bells, manifold type (high mount), and with it not having the 4th designator means it’s not tuned for American use or has an older tuning (prior to specifying “American” tuning).

If you check out the true enthusiast websites for train horns they detail the chords for each depending on when they were produced, which train line they were made for, etc…
