tank at rear horns at front?

if my 5 gallon tank is fitted at the rear of the car in the boot, and i run airline right to the front of the car with the horns at the front will this still sound as good? does it make any difference i mean do you loose some pressure or wont it affect anything

kit is a 565xl shockers with 175 psi (when it arrives  )

It will still work, but might be a few nano seconds before they go off… thing to do is have the solinoid as close to the horns as possible, so the pipe is always charged with air!

I asked the same question when I got my horns, it woz suggested to me that its always better to have as shorter run as possible…

good point thankyou… so the solenoid can be mounted anywhere? the solenoids the bit that lets the air to the horns right? for some reason i thought the solenoid was fitted into the air tank…lol

Nah its just basically an electric gate… when you switch it on it opens letting the air pass, switch it off and it closes again… On my shockers I fitted the small manifolds(splitter) directly to the solinoid then short pieces of tube out to each Horn…

The set up will run okay with the tank in the back, but always best to keep the runs as short as possible…

Anyway hope thats helped ya in some way…I’m off to bed now its gone midnight over here… laters dude & goodluck!

tell me about it lol im in the uk too…

hopefully will have my kit mid week next week so the install begins… cant bloody wait!!

speak soon mate…

Longer runs of air line do make you lose some pressure at the end, so try to make them short. The valve should be as close to the horns as possible for a faster reaction.

Ideally, like the Horn Doc said, keep it all very close together.

It really isn’t going to make a difference how loud or how quick it will sound as long as you have the valve as close to the horns as possible… I had a 17 foot run of airline going to the shockers i had in the front of my truck… sounded no different than the 3 foot run i had going to my k3 in the back…
