Tanks

I am about to put three 12 gallon tanks on my truck. how many and what kind of compressor or compressors would you all suggest? it has to be 150 psi though. cause the baggs…

viair recommends at least 1 compressor for every 5 gallons. but i hear oasis makes some bad *** compressors too $$$$. lol

u really need 3 compressors per 12 gallon tank to keep warranty so ummm 9 compressors

or 1 oasis haha

Engine driven pump. They usually go for 900-1200. 100 times better then 9 compressors.

Why do you need 36 gallons anyway?

For the bags on his truck…

I would recommend an engine driven as well…

but 36 gallons? Most people I know who have bags run 10 gallons. why not just run nitrogen?

ya cause i am running my train horns off the same tank. so thats why i want 34 or 36 gal. how does the engine pump work?

EDC (engine driven compressor) is the acronym. They’re an air conditioning compressor converted for that use. Some people convert their existing air conditioner for that purpose. Adding one to your engine can be a nightmare. You need a mounting bracket and the room to mount it. It usually requires a larger belt and possibly an additional tensioner.

Our XD3000 is basically an EDC but with a 12V motor so you can mount it just about anywhere. It fills 36 gallons from 0 to 150 PSI in 6.3 minutes. They are oil lubricated and require occasional maintenance. The oil discharge rate is 1 ounce for every 50 hours of operation. It hold 10 ounces and needs to be topped off when it gets to 8 ounces.

When using compressed gas (CO2 or LN2) everything needs to handle very cold temperatures. The bottles need to be refilled and might run out just when you need it most but it’s a cheaper option.

Your choice is go with compressed gas, add an EDC to your engine, get 8 smaller compressors, or just 1 XD3000. You can compare prices right here on Hornblaster’s website.

I forgot to mention that an EDC is also oil lubricated and discharges considerably more oil, about 1 ounce every hour of operation, unless you get one of our pumps.

What would the fill time be on a 5 gal? lol Would the pump kick on and off right away

i want to see some pic’s of the setup when u done lol 3 12 gallons air tanks damn!!!

if the math is the same…it should be 53 seconds

Your math is right. My chart says 54 seconds but I think we’re being conservative. If the restart pressure is 120, the refill time is 11 seconds to 150, so how often it kicks on & off is determined by how much you use it.
