So what made you decide on the American tune?
Really just the fact It can possibly be easier to sale the canadian horns…I have not installed every horn and blown them all at the same time, but I blew the 3 and 3a side by side and I did not notice any difference in the 2 horns. Then I blew the 4 and 4a side by side and I could just barely tell a difference in the 2 horns.Other than that they are the exact same horns. They say the canadian are “alot” different but I honestly can not tell much difference in the different horns. If I had a buyer for the K5LA then I would sale those and keep the K5L.It really doesnt matter to me,I just need to sale one set because I dont need $750 just sitting collecting dust!
^ You need to hear all of the horns together, they sound different. I would just like to see you hear both of them, and decide witch one you like better. Have you got on the tube and listen to them?
Ok so I made time to finish up the horn install today,I love the way the horns turned out,Curt S was my inspiration as you can tell.Heres a few pics of the horns during the painting process, along with the finished product and a rail road lamp I restored a few years ago.The horns sound great and the install went as planned.Im a little pi$$ed at Viair tho, because I took my time and did everything right to insure there were no leaks, and sure enough,it pressured up to 200psi (took 10min from start to finish) and I let it sit for 10 min,I came back and had dropped 15psi,I got the soapy water out and had 0 leaks,EXCEPT for one compressor was leaking out the intake,im assuming I have a bad check valve.I have read numerous times about guys having faulty check valves, why does Viair continue to use inferior valves!
Looks sharp. Seams like that is a popular color scheme…
It all looks good…I love lamp! Ha ha
Been wondering about those check valves myself.
you gonna put lamp on top of truck i think it will look pretty tight
Actually my grandpa kept that lamp for many years,I begged him for it forever, then finally he gave it to me for my birthday.I restored it inside and out and it just sits on my computer desk.It willl most likely sit there forever!
