toggle switch

So i have a toggle switch inside the cab that blows my horns. and then the factory horn…my question is how do i wire it to where my toggle switch will switch between the factory and then the shockers. does this make since? any advice would be appreiciated

Are you saying you want it to start blowing the factory horn then go into the shockers?

when i push on the factory horn swithc( the sdteering wheel) i want it to blow the factory horn, but if i turn on my toggle switch and press it i want it to blow. instead of turning on the toggle and the horn blows

run a wire from the horn positive wire to one leg of the toggle “tap the horn positive”, then the other leg of the toggle to the solenoid positve. as long as this is a two position toggle this will let the horn only blow in the off position and the horn and the shockers to blow in the on position, If you dont want the truck horn to blow you need a three position switch and a different wiring setup, if thats the route you go let me know and i will walk you through it. Make sure you find the positive wire on the horn, Hope this helps and word to your motha, lol

P.S. this will all be easiest done at the wires closest from the actual horn and not from the steering wheel

I know you PMed me but i will post it here in case anyone else is interested on how to wire a three position switch, First get the switch from autozone, carquest, ebay etc. Remember just because it has three prongs does not make it a three position, some have an extra prong for the ground to illuminate a light to indicate the switch is on. Ok instead of tapping into the horn like the 2 position switch you completely cut it in too at the horn, Take the positive end going into the wire harness and extend it into the truck. ok the switch has three positions, lets say 1 if for the horn, 2 is off, and 3 is for the shockers, you want to find the common, or 12v input and put the horn positive on it, next take the #1 prong and send it back to the horn positive wire you previously cut that goes directly into the horn, next bring a wire from #3 prong to the solenoid positive. remember the solenoid negative needs to be grounded for it to work. This should make the truck horn blow on #1, nothing happen in the off or middle position, and the shockers blow in the #3 position. If you need more info just ask, and hope this helps/

here is a crappy drawing i did but maybe it will help, remember if the 2 position has 3 prongs with a light, the copper colored one goes to a ground, and if the 3 position has 4 prongs with a light the copper colored one goes to a ground.

awesome, will start looking for a three position switch here within a few days. and once my truck is out of the shop i will definitely look into trying to doo this alothough it weill be a same to lose the switch i have, but the logic does make since. thanks for the help will post more if needed

now looking at the picture, even thought its a 3 pos. switch i would only use(in your diagram) pos. 2 and 3 correct? because one would do absolutely nothing. but what about a 2 position switch with 4 prongs? wouldn’t that work as well? or am i thinking to deep into this?

Thank you for the whole wiring diagram. I might have to do this with my set up so I don’t always have to use my factory horn.
