Toyota Highlander

G’day all,

I have a Toyota Highlander and want to install a Horn Blaster but I dont want the tank and compresser inside the car. Has anyone installed one under the bonet of the Highlander, I am not sure if there is enough room.

Forum members:
The Bonet/bonnett of the Highlander is what we’d call the hood of the car. They call the truck, the “boot”. So he wants to know if anyone’s done an install under the hood.

Mark, look at the installs here: http://www.hornblasters.com/installs/class/?train_horns_on_trucks One of them was done an a Toyota Sequioa and another on a Toyota Rav 4. That may give you ideas.

Cheers mate

i dunno of anyone doing it…but u should be the first …go for it man…

Try fitting the horns inside your front bumper and if there’s no room under your vehicle for the tank and compressor, you can always move your battery to the trunk.

Also, don’t forget that five one-gallon tanks give you the same air capacity as one five gallon tank. With all the different sizes and shapes (pancake tanks, the long cylindrical ones, ect) you should be able to squeeze in a tank here and there and slave them all together to meet your needs. Don’t settle for a system that goes dry in 30 seconds.

I opted for the ViAir 480c constant duty dual pack with twin 5 gallon tanks. It’s a lot easier to mount two tanks than to find space for one.
