Train horns are great Deer Deterrent!

I was driving down some back roads late one night and I came around a corner and there were about 10 deer standing in the middle of the road doing the “Deer in the headlights look” at me. Held down the switch for the shockers and they Hauled @$$ Running! Thanks hornblasters!

Haha ya it works on alot of animals…very good use indeed

It’s a toss up. Scare them away or have venison for dinner with major car damage assuming you don’t have a rifle…LOL

Wow! A real / practical use for your horns… Who would’ve thought?

Be careful though. I’ve seen that on a few occasions that it can have the opposite effect. Sometimes it confuses the hell out of them causing them to run in all directions across the road and otherwise.

yeah i blasted a couple of doe on the side of the road and they ran out in front of me.

^? the hood is fine but and it jumps through the windshield but how the f does the roof cave in like that… i call Photoshop. the deer is sliced in half perfectly… yep shopped

Nope.

idk still seems fishy… shopped. definitely shopped

It’s on the internet so it must be true!
Seriously though this story is all over the place. Deer jumped off an overpass onto I-394 in 2002. That’s why the roof is caved. Note the “brown stuff” on the roof.

I would say this guy had the exact opposite effect of deer deterent:eek:

But I will say train horns do work great as an animal deterrent. I think I blast every critter I see alongside the road.

lol. Well I did have one of those so called “Deer whistles” on my truck but my truck speaks for itself if it worked or not. Hit a deer doing 70 on the freeway a few years ago. Smashed the front of my truck up a bit. My blinker light on my passenger side was hanging off of the truck by the wires and my pedestrian light also. I’ll take some pics of it. I used some Zip ties and some double sided tape to hold the lights back into place :stuck_out_tongue: Also cracked my windshield! Dam deer. oh well. It could have been worse! like the pic of that red Dodge Durango with the deer on it! Dam! I feel lucky.
