hi guys… new to this site and cant wait to get some train horns fitted on my ride ;0) i will post pics when its all installed.
i have a couple of questions thats confusing the hell out of me lol…
on hornblasters website theres a choice between shocker XL train horns and hornblasters classic 4-piece (hb4h) train horns but i cant work out what the difference is between them?? which ones are louder or are they the same horn??
also you can buy an upgrade kit with 1/2" fittings does this really make much of a difference?
really appreciate your help and roll on the new install very soon…
the XL kit is essentially the same horns as the classic kit with the 1/2" upgrade kit already included. haven’t heard one personally but the posts here say they’re much louder than the classic version.
I think the fittings on the horns are 1/2 inch as well. bigger airline makes the horns sound louder and will blow harder. if you have the money, I would put it in the XLs.
The classic kit (HB4H) features 1/4in NPT fittings and 5/16in air line split four ways. The XL kit features 1/2in NPT fittings up to the valve and a 1/2in supply line. Then it splits out to four 5/16in lines (one to each horn).
Both are loud, but the XL is significantly louder.
In our complete kits, we also offer VX kits. The VX packages feature the XL valve upgrade, but have slightly restricted air flow to make up for their smaller air supplies.
