Trouble

I was gone for 9 mths and my truck sat with the tank at 150psi tha whole time. Now that i have been home for 5 mths and put the horns and air system through SOME use (i hit the horns max 1 time a day and sometimes go days or weeks without use) since ive been home ive had to replace the valve and the pressure switch. well we were going to memphis last tuesday and i tried to blow the horns and got nothing. I took the next exit and stopped at the gas station. I lifted the lid on the tool box and wasnt surprised by what i saw, my 0 gauge power wire was smoking and compressors were turning over about 1 time a second and stopping then kicking back on just to stop again. About the time I was thinking, damn i bet the tank is at about 250psi or 300 and my tank is only good to 200, the new smc valve i just installed gave out and the horns sang out at the gas pump scaring the poop out of me and everyone else within a mile for about six or seven seconds until the psi was down to a point where the valve could close again. so the pressure switch failed again and this time i wasnt where i could hear the compressors and cut them off like the 1st time. so i got home and drained the tank and put power to the compressors and everything pressured up fine or atleast to 130 psi because i didnt trust the pressure switch so i was just geusstimating. At this point i feel like a new pressure switch would do the trick except sometimes when i give the compressors juice they run about 1/2 speed and sound starving for more power and after a couple seconds they surge back to life and they occasionally cycle back and forth. bad ground? bad compressors? After their marathon on the way to memphis they alsosound loose not as tight as before. any suggestions would be Appreciated

Yikes! No safety valve in your system? Very important man, you could have been killed.
Time for a new pressure switch, a safety valve and to check all your wiring.
A bad ground is what killed my first pressure switch. I am now running a little pressure switch with dual relays and haven’t had any problems.
