I know you’re not supposed to screw with the allen on the back of the horns, but is there a certain method to tuning the shockers? when i purchased them used, they were a little off-tune, and now they just sound a little too high pitched. any advice?
How much pressure are you running to them? They aren’t supposed to be tuned. I wouldn’t mess with that.
well i mean i already took the horns off the 4 way manifold and ran air through every horn individually to make sure they were all sounding, and the 2 longer ones weren’t as strong as the rest, so i turned the back allen and it fixed it right up, but i guess i just can’t seem to find the exact right pitch
150 psi
how do you tune a k3ha???
Only one way to tune a K horn and that’s to send it to a machinist and let them bore or add metal to the nozzle to make it play the correct note.
If someone ever tells you to loosen or tighten the back cap bolts, don’t do it… (unless your horn sits on a shelf and you just toot it occassionally)
I’m not sure then.
hmmm, maybe someone else will chime in, or if not i guess i’ll just test them individually and see what i can come up with
Well James, since you were keen on tuning them yourself, I gave you some useful advice… but Rigo decided to edit my post and take away what I told you. This forum is freakin ridiculous… I have been quiet until now about hornblasters but I’m getting to the point of not being able to take it anymore. Everyone’s posts are getting deleted and edited and it’s bull… I might have to share my story of bad customer service that lasted for 3 months from hornblasters…
what the hell? why? its not like i’m asking for advice about another horn… it’s a hornblasters horn…
do you think you could PM me? i appreciate your effort!
I’ll just post it again. If you decide to tune your horns, use a keyboard and tune it by ear or use a sound analyzer of some kind. The “shockers” play these notes (shortest to longest) 415 Hz, 349 Hz, 311 Hz, 246 Hz.
I don’t recommend you do this but if you must, that’s the info you will need.
Hondaguy, What was your customer service issue? When was it? Please tell.
nothing
I am REALLY sorry to hear that Hondaguy. I am the owner of Hornblasters, Matt and I can assure you that we have the best customer service available. It’s always upsetting when you hear that someone is not satisfied with the service that you are providing. I will personally handle any future business that you would consider doing with Hornblasters from this point on. Again I am very sorry, I take customer complaints VERY seriously. The girl you described (Persia) has not been with the company for about a year. It’s really surprising to hear a complaint about her as she was one of our stellar employees, but again I apologize.
Thank you for continuing to participate in our forum.

Thanks Matt. I actually asked to speak to you when I called but you must have been out of the office. I knew you’d be able to handle it for me. Next time I call for something, I’ll be sure to ask for ya. Thanks again… By the way, I’m going to edit that post. No need for everyone to see it, even if I did get called out.
well it’s good to know we got that settled =]
Yeah sorry this happened in your thread James. Did my post help ya out at all?
no problem man!
and yes, it certainly did. i got a keyboard and found the correct keys for each hz, and i found it is a variant of an F chord. i’m going to try it out tomorrow, i’ll let you know how it goes!
well, i went out and tuned them yesterday. they sound great!!! thanks for the help!
No problem… Let us know if anything else is wrong.
alright, this is an old post but is there anyone other than hornblasters who can tune the shockers?
I’m going to give HB a call tomorrow, i emailed Garrett yesterday but still no response.
Thanks!
