hi, im new here, my name is Nate, im 15, and im getting an f250 in a year for my first truck, im wanting a set of nathan airchimes and i really want k5’s. i was wondering what are the different types of k5’s and what are all the necessary equipment i would need, i would like to have my lever being a hand lever on the floor or have it hooked up to one of the aux switches-is this possible, please give me some input, pics of your setups, anything is helpful, if i just made myself look like an idiot then just ket me know. also how do they hold up when it comes to offroading and mudding
K5’s has low manifold and the high manifold, and come in american tuned and Canadian ones.
To make them work you would need a air tank, perferbly something bigger than 5 gallons or you’ll kick yourself in the butt. And a compressor, along with the hoses, wires, switches, valve, etc.
And yes you can have a manual valve routed into the truck or hook the solenoid up to the AUX switch.
Call Hornblasters and they will hook you up…very helpful and patient people. Don’t buy any Nathan AirChime horns right from Hornblasters though. You can find it at probably half price completely refurbished on eBay.
You never know what you will get on ebay tho… Parts for these horns are pricey! And if u get k5 off ebay and it turns out the cushions and diaphragms are shot, say goodbye to your good deal. Dont knock hornblasters because of the high price , but yet praise them for selling quality merchandise you can trust , warranty on there products, and great customer service.
i have a 12 gallon tank and dual 444c’s and they are awesome. Lots of air for honking. or if you got tons of money, look into getting a Oasis, 1300, i think.
ill look into it but i wont be gettin them for a year. i was wondering how the tanks and compressors due in extreme heat, cause on my truck im gonna have dual stacks and a stack cover, and since i know some welders i was gonna have them welded inside the stack cover if they can fit or atleast the tank, and for yall who dont know what a stack cover looks like:
and they will be covering a t-pipe like this:
I wouldnt put anything next to your exhaust on a diesel. Because if you have any modifications at all your egts can easily hot 1200degs and on my egt gauge i see up to 1350degrees so i would stay clear of the exhaust.
I have mine where my spare tire was. And i also mounted my compressors behind the back seat to keep them in the dry and cool and my tank is in the bed of the truck.
