Ugh...fuse keeps blowing...shocker 240 trouble

I looked through the thread and never saw if you answered.

What gauge wire is running to the battery?

I’m not sure. I would assume though. I disconnected it a few hours ago and I’m sending it in to hornblasters to get it tested

I used the stock 10ga. speaker wire that came with the kit, and then used my old THICK speaker wire. It made no difference. My neighbor really thinks its bad windings. Even if it is, I still like how you stand behind your product 100%. Viair seems like a true company and believe me you’re not losing a customer (unless I have to buy a new one lol :p)

How long is the wire run?

10 GA wire is definitely not going to provide the resistance you will need for any type of installation. “thick wire” is subjective since the wire could just be really heavy insulation with a small gauge core.

Try installing a 4 or 6 gauge main power wire, fused at the battery and replace the relay since that may well be fried as well. Fuse at no more than 40 amps for a 400C compressor and report your findings please.

The power wire itsself was big. It was about two times thicker than the 10ga. wire. The 10Ga. wire is what came with the kit, and the compressor is a 480c. The power wire is probably 10 feet long. BTW I sent it into the hornblasters compressor test center in zephyr hills to figure out whats going on with it. I don’t think ten feet is too long. Is it?
