So i have a pretty cool setup i think. 2 nathans are loud as hale! But…What can i do to make it even LOUDER!?
Here are some idea’s, tell me what you think.

I have seen curt’s youtube video about drilling the oriface on each bell. It is very apparent in his video that this allows more air to pass through the horn, making it louder. I have been considering this, but what cha think?

I am running 1/2" DOT air line. I sopose i could change it out to 5/16, but would this make a difference at all and do the connector have a small oriface, causing a bottleneck anyway?

in addition to my graham white valve, i have the ability to use the stock horn button as well. Because the hornblasters solinoid valve has such a small oriface, does this cause resistance? My proposal is to use 2 solinoid valves in paralell to minimize restriction and maximize flow. I would need to Y the outputs after the valve back into a single line and connect to the horn.
Is this over kill?
What Cha think ???
Oops, ya I mean 5/8 hose.
The drilling out of the horns works, but keep it to 6mm max, as it works the best at this diameter … there are quite a few guys on here that have done it and confirmed it works.
5/8 or even 3/4 air line will work but the restriction will still be the valve, unless you can find a larger diameter valve and fittings.
The “Y” adapters won’t work unless you get larger fittings, but if you’re doing that you won’t need it because to use larger fittings, you need bigger lines. Your restriction will always be fittings so plan to get the largest possible. Also be aware of the pressure rating the valve and fittings will handle; you don’t need something to let go and end up hurting you, others, or your vehicle.

Yes!
We all talk about running bigger airline. What really happens is you get to run bigger fittings! Fittings are the restriction.
I wouldn’t mind opening up the holes in the horn. How much of a difference does it truely make? What size is the hole to begin with?

i saw a huge difference going from 1/2" to 5/8"
1/2" they sounded restricted and like they were not screaming at there best…
5/8" makes me smile, lol
link to the youtube video of the drilling it out??
Not sure what it is to begin with, but those that have drilled out to 6mm swear its a totally different level of loudness.
I just wanna hear some proof and know I’m not gonna f up my horns. Lol if someone can say, yes its louder and no it doesn’t damage the horns, hell yeah I’m gonna do it:)

Here’s the YouTube vid from Curt S: Horn comparison
Here’s his thread: Stock vs Modified K5LA
You’ll find more threads by searching for “drill”. Here’s another: K3LA mod and upgrade
i understand drilling out the inlet hole on the bottom where it bolts to the manifold. havent really understand the other place to drill out…
That’s the only place you’d be drilling, the hole on the bottom of the bell where it meets the manifold. There isn’t anywhere else you can drill out to 6 mm on these bells.
