Water in tank

Hey guys I need some pictures or ideas of how you ran your water separator or drain from your compressor to your tank. Is there anything I can just put in the line from the compressor to the tank? My drain is hard to get to so I need an idea of how to keep that water out.

In most cases the tank is the best place to capture moisture. Some have put solenoid valves on the drain so it can be done remotely.

A coalescing filter can be used at the input of the tank if the leader hose is long enough for the air to cool down. If it’s too close to the compressor, the air is too hot and the moisture isn’t dense enough for the filter to capture.

I don’t know much about in line water separators for this application, but I’m using a solenoid valve and it works well. I have a 1/2" valve but you could definately go smaller/cheaper.

what are you running a push button in the cab or something to that sort ???

yep exactly

I use a 200 psi pop off safety valve, and it doubles for a drain.

sounds good guys ill go ahead and start planning on how im going to do it. just got done putting in my pressure gauge in the cab. works great
