Water in train horn after car wash?

I think I know the answer to this question, but I wanted to double check myself.

I just got a car wash a few hours ago and I got the “under carriage” wash. I just tried my horns a few moments ago and my K3 sounds out of tune… I’m guessing it’s because of the wash. All I can do now is wait for it to dry and it should be okay? Should I drain the tank a few times through the horn and see if that helps fix it quicker?

It sounds like one of the bells is a little out of tune… I hope I don’t have to replace anything… Then again, it is a TRAIN HORN, so maybe the internals are stronger than that :)? Haha.

Water will not hurt them in any way. Don’t forget they sit on top of trains!

just hold them down and dump your tanks lol that should be enough to just blow all the stuff out of them

They are bolted to my frame haha.

hahah sorry i ment hold your valve wide open so it dumps all your air out threw the horn and cleans them out.

yea same with mine when its pouring it sounds like a manual valve at first haha

The weird thing about that for me is… When it rains and I mean like RAINS, I have no problem… It’s just this one time when I decided to get an “under carriage” wash on my Dakota… :/. Tonight I drained the tank for 6 seconds… I still wasn’t loosing sound so I stopped… I have a 10 gallon… I thought I was going to be empty by then haha. Guess not. I kinda didn’t wanna wake up everyone in the neighborhood with a blast longer than that.
