A pancake compressor w/ tank is as big as an Oasis compressor. I would have loved to sell you a compressor Mr. Jurrasic but I knew it wasn’t practical. Was I helpful enough for you to make a decision?
I see you got your compressor working but if it quits on you again, get a Viair from hornblasters. You can’t get much better support than that, other than us…lol.
I also cant wait for the 490’s to come out but im gonna get them a couple months after they come out, cause as everyone knows im sure there will be some fault or bugs with them and just wait for them to get the all out and buy a couple…if you have the money…oasis air compressors are the poop
This is why we’ve kept the 495C from launching… We spent extra time in testing to be sure that the units will perform, and can be called VIAIRs. One of the prototypes that spent 6 months in the field was used daily with a 175 PSI pressure switch and was the only compressor filling 10 gallons for an air suspension vehicle. It came back to be dissected and examined and still exceeds our rated fill times. - And this was an early version without the benefit of some improvements we’ve made over the past several months.
There aren’t any torque specs. You should use a thread locker on bolts though, so vibration doesn’t loosen them over time and during operation. Over-tightening may break them off, so be careful to tighten - but not over-tighten.
I wouldn’t expect anyone to part with their income unless they knew full well what they were buying and had confidence in their purchase. This is why we are doing our part to release a quality unit first and foremost.
The torque on the HP3000 motor bolts is 15 ft/lbs. The head bolts are 17 ft/lbs.
The ground side brushes are easy to replace after you get the end cap off of the motor. Remove a screw, move a spring, replace the brush and reverse the process.
On the power side after moving the spring, cut the old brush from the wire. Leave as much wire as you can because the new brush is butt spliced to the old wire. One of those wires will have a thermal switch on it so be careful not to cut it off or the compressor won’t run.
On the XD3000, you remove a cover, move the spring, remove the retaining screw, and reverse the process with the new brush. There are 4 of these. The brushes are a lot larger, harder, and will last a lot longer than an HP3000.
