Where do i put the valve?

I just got my shockers today and i have the horns, comp. and tank mounted. I need to hook up the electrical and air hoses. My question is, where the hell does the valve go? I know between the tank and the horns, but does it mount on the tank or where does it go? There doesn’t seem to be a way to hard mount it anywhere.

Any help would be nice. Thanks.

I just mounted mine close to the tank. The shockers would be fine with the valve anywhere, a Airchime you want the valve placed a tad bit away from the horns. really the main thing with the shockers is you want is the hose for the horns to be equal lengths, so they all sound at the exact same time. I dont have mine that way, and its close to the same time but not exact. Still sounds good. but to answer your question, it doesnt matter. wherever is convenient to you.

try to get the valve close to the horns!

I will try. I just have to find a way to secure it. I don’t want it flopping around anywhere. I am having a hard time mounting the pressure swich. I mounted the tank on the frame and there is not much room on the side of the tank for the switch. I bought a couple of 90deg elbows and i am going to try it that way. I hope it works. I only have the electrical to run and the valve and line for the horn left. I haven’t been able to locate my factory horn yet. It must be hidden somewhere???

hmm im not sure where your factory horn is on a chevy…on my ford it was located under the battery…just have someone do some quick taps on your horn to find it…again it might be buried somewhere…if not you could always just make a manual switch and leave your factory horn how it is just run a seperate wire so the valve opens when you flip a switch

I found one. It was hiding behind the headlight. There is another one too that I can’t find, but I don’t care about that one.

well if you end up going that route make sure you have the right horn…if you have 2 horns they are connected and only one is receiving the power from when you push on the steering wheel and then relaying it over to the other one

if hooking it up to the stock horns, why not just tap into the under hood fuse box where they are wired into… use an add-a-fuse (probably mini) and just plug in

I spliced into one of the 2 horns and it works good. I just need to figure out a good place and how to mount the valve so it is secure.
