Hey, no need to get defensive. I wasn’t justifying anything. I was just saying that some locks aren’t breakable by hands or bolt cutters. Honk your horns how you want. It wasn’t an argument of how to honk your horns, just a good place to put them to show them off responsibly.

Yea, his horns were visible, someone got scared either once or multiple times and over reacted in my opinion. I was just saying that If your horns are in clean sight that they dont have to steal them to fuck you over. Thats the only problem I see with having the horns visible. I mean, It would be fun to show off a Leslie or airchime but once you start honking at people its probably not the brightest idea.

horns right ontop your vehicle maybe the best way to keep them from getting stollen…doesnt mean they wont be fucked with but im sure if someone is coming to mess with because of youve to be visisble they already know you have them obviously
We were saying it would be easier to get them stolen off the top of the vehicle lol. And people who mount them up on top of the vehicle don’t use them to scare people so they wouldn’t be pissing people off and causing them to come mess with them.
well… I didnt piss anyone off with my lawn equipment and tools but they still stole them out of my storage shed lol if they want it they WILL get it…
By messing with, I wasn’t tlaking about lawn equipment being stolen or even horns being stolen, I’m talking about scaring someone and them dumping paint on your car like Dan’s.

Yeah man its cool. Yeah that sucked i miss honkin alot =[ But always be careful when u blow. Its better to keep them hidden because alot of people dont like being blown at and when ure in a crowded place or traffic and they are very viible people get pissed at u. I was spit on one time when they where under my bumper in the original location
I would love to mount my horns up top just to make the sound carry farther with a real train-like echo. I decided against it for several reasons:
- I don’t have a rack so I would have to buy one or make a custom mounting bracket. This costs more money and takes time, may not look too good, and it decreases MPG at least a tiny bit.
- I don’t want the horns to be visible to police or angry people that might increase my odds of getting a ticket or getting vandalized / burgled.
- I don’t want to increase the height of my truck. I can barely fit in some parking garages and drive-through lanes as it is.
- I don’t want to permanently modify the roof, bed, etc. to install the horns because I will resell the truck later and I will not sell my horns with it.
- Scares are much more effective when they can’t see it coming, and more fun when you can honk in a crowded parking lot or traffic and nobody is sure where the sound came from.
So I spent considerable time finding a way to mount under the truck without modifying the frame rails or bed, and without anything visible, yet the horns are still exposed to the open air. It was well worth the extra effort IMHO. To each his own.
People are ********, plain and simple. Scares are fun, they’re fun when they happen to you. It’s fun to say, “Yeah if I knew who that was i’d beat their ***.” after they scare you. I’m gonna have problems keeping mine stealthy which is why I won’t scare people…in my town.
Yes you will… You just won’t do it near your house… Someone else said their wife gave them the 6-6-60 Rule… No one under the age of 6, No less that 6 blocks from the house, and no one over the age of 60.
Get the custom mounting brackets, and have fun with them… you can mount them stealthy you just have to be creative…
